Fifteen artists, designers and architects will mark a route through the landscape that inspired Bruegel.
They will create pavilions, structures, plantations, landscape figures, a story, and installations. They will create something at their spot, and play with the space. They will often create new, unexpected environments.
The artists
Curator : Stefan Devoldere
Stefan Devoldere is a professor and Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Art at the University of Hasselt. He regularly writes about architecture and urban planning, and was editor-in-chief of the Belgian architecture magazine A+ from 2004 to 2010. He has curated architecture exhibitions both at home and abroad, and was part of the Belgian contribution to the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2008, 2010 and 2012. From 2011 to 2016, he supervised and stimulated the quality of the built environment in Flanders as deputy and acting Flemish Government Architect. He has built up extensive experience in researching design and is chairman of Stadsatelier Oostende, a group of experts that work on a strategic development plan for Ostend, provide the framework for a number of innovative housing projects, and supervise various strategic building projects for the city.
